smoked sausage
potatoes
bacon
cabbage
carrots (opt)
salt and pepper
Instructions
first i cut up the sausage and fried it with a few strips of bacon
-then i cut 5 or 6 yukon gold potatoes in halve, then sliced kind of thin so they would cook faster.
-remove the sausage and bacon to another dish, saving the grease in the pan...
-then i put the sliced potatoes in the pan with the bacon/sausage grease on low while i chopped half of a head of cabbage. (keep stirring potatoes to cover them w grease)
-then i spread out 3 large pieces of foil, one for each person in our family (at least 12x18 because i overload each one)
-next fill each piece of foil with big spoonfuls of potatoes, bacon, sausage, and chunks of cabbage
(i added a handful of banana peppers because we love them)
-next, season everything with salt, pepper, and old bay
-carefully fold each packet tightly to keep steam from getting out... i grab the top first by pinching it together an folding over a couple times, then fold the sides in nice and tight.
bake at 400 degrees for an hour
