Ingredients
                
                3 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
2 Tbs. Corn syrup (white)
1 cup of finely chopped dates until nearly melted
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup coconut
 2 Tbs. Butter
 1 tsp. Vanilla
             
      
            
                
                    
Instructions
                
                Boil the sugar, evaporated milk, and Corn syrup to softball stage, 236 - 237 degrees.  Stir in 1 cup chopped dates until nearly melted.  Add chopped nuts, coconut, butter, and vanilla.  
When cool enough to handle, form these ingredients into a roll with buttered hands.  Wrap the roll in foil or a damp dish towel.  Chill and slice later.
