Cooking the recipe like this leaves the meat tough as nails.... I've tried making this with NY strip steak, and pan-searing the steak separately. But that burns my pan and smokes up the house and sometimes the steak doesn't get cooked well enough. Next time try cooking steak in the oven? I really like the sauce + noodles, anyway. Maybe this would be a good side dish for something else.

Ingredients

1/4 cup margarine 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 lb. round steak, chopped into small pieces 1 sm. can sliced mushrooms 2 tbsp flour 1/2 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 8oz container sour cream 1 pkg medium wide noodles (or egg noodles), cooked

Instructions

Melt margarine in skillet; add meat and onions and cook until meat is browned. Add mushrooms, salt, pepper, and flour; cook 5 minutes at med/low temp. Add undiluted soup; cook another 5 minutes. Add sour cream last. Stir and serve over noodles.
