Southern Fried Apples by
Ingredients
7-8 medium to large cooking apples, (I like Golden Delicious), peeled or not according to preference, quartered
1 cup water
2 cups white sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon (we don't like a strong cinnamon taste in our apples, adjust to your taste)
3/4 stick margarine
Instructions
In a large skillet pile the apples in the center
Sprinkle the sugar on top of the apples
Add vanilla, cinnamon, and margarine on top
Pour the water around the apples
Cook on medium heat until tender. Stir occasionally, make sure the apples don't stick.
