Freida was an excellent cook and gave me many good recipes when our husbands worked together.

1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 6 eggs 3 cups plain flour 1/4 teas. soda 1/2 teas. salt 1/2 pint sour cream 1 cup pecans, chopped 1 teas. vanilla

Soften butter and mix with sugar.  Add one egg at a time, beating well in between. Sift flour, soda, salt together and add to mixture, beating well.  Add sour cream and vanilla and beat.  Stir in pecans.Pour in 10" tube pan, greased and floured.  Bake at 300 for 11/2 hours until done.
