Cobbler from Cindy's Recipes

Notes

This is the "original" recipe, however I cut it in half (I used an 8x8 square glass pyrex dish) because that's just TOO much to have around for just the 3 of us. You can use any of the Comstock canned fruits. I've done this with the apple, blackberry, cherry and most recently I cooked down some apricots. The apricot one was good but our favorite so far has been the cherry cobbler. I don't use the entire can of fruit however I will put the rest in a small container and in the fridge. You can spoon some of the fruit you didn't use over your servings and warm in the microwave. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 stick butter 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1 cup yellow cake mix (I used the Duncan Hines Butter Cake mix) 1 28 oz can of fruit (do not drain)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350'. While this is preheating, put stick of butter in a 13 x 9 inch pan and place in oven to melt. In a bowl, mix together the flour, milk, sugar, and yellow cake mix. Take the pan out of the oven and pour mixture over the melted butter. DO NOT STIR. Spoon fruit on top, do not stir. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. I've found that it takes longer than the required time doing it the way I do...is closer to 35 to 45 minutes. Good with ice cream on top!
