Ingredients
2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 tbsp. warm water
5 c. plain flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. sugar
Instructions
Sift all the above together. 2 c. buttermilk
Mix dry ingredients; add the Crisco and mix as for biscuits. Add 2 cups buttermilk and the yeast which has been dissolved in 2 tablespoons warm water. Roll on floured board; cut out with biscuit cutter, brush with melted butter and fold over as for Parker House rolls. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. (You can cut out and place in freezer to use as needed).
