2 c. brown sugar 2 c. white sugar 1 lb. (2 c.) butter 4 eggs 1 t. salt 2 t. baking powder 2 t. baking soda 2 t. vanilla 4 c. flour 5 c. oatmeal 3 c. nuts and raisins

Mix sugars and butter together until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and add to wet ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2" apart, onto cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen large cookies.
