Almond Roca from Kraus's Recipes

Ingredients

1 lb. butter (no margarine) 2-1/2 c. sugar 1 c. finely ground almonds 2 c. finely ground walnuts 2 giant size Nestle's milk chocolate bars

Instructions

Boil butter and sugar in heavy iron skillet for 5 minutes at high heat (stir constantly and watch carefully!), take off burner and stir in almonds. Return to medium heat and boil about 7 minutes or hard crack stage tested in cold water (300 degrees). Pour in ungreased cookie sheet (12" x 18"), cover with 1 bar chocolate which has been melted over hot water (or in microwave) and press in 1 c. ground walnuts. Set aside to cool in refrigerator. Turn out on wax paper and coat other side with the other bar of melted chocolate and the rest of the walnuts.
