Deb's Brownies from Acgc's Recipes
Tags: Dessert

Notes

I made my buttermilk by putting almost 1/4 cup lemon juice into a 1 cup measuring cup and then adding 2% milk to the 1 cup line. You can use margarine in this recipe instead of the butter, but the brownies will taste better if you use butter. I do not use all of the frosting, it makes a little bit too much.

Ingredients

Sift in a bowl: 2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Melt 2 sticks butter Add 4 TBSP cocoa Add 1 cup water Bring to a boil and pour over mixture in the bowl. Stir and Add: 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla Mix and Bake in a 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Instructions

Frosting 1 stick butter 4 TBSP Cocoa 1/3 cup buttermilk Boil for 1 minute. Take off heat. Add: 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla Beat well. Spread on the brownies when they are still slightly warm.
